Throughout my life, my dad has taught me that every stranger is a friend waiting to be made, and my mom has taught me that making people feel beautiful is one of the greatest gifts you can give them. I carry these lessons with me everywhere I go. ♥
I care deeply about connecting with people and capturing their memories. I get giddy over good lighting, squeal with excitement when clients are so cute that I just can't stand it, get emotional capturing milestones, spend hours meticulously editing, and am always over the moon excited when I get to share a completed gallery. I wholeheartedly love what I do and I'm so grateful!

I've had a camera in my hand for as long as I can remember. What started as mirror selfies and silly YouTube videos with my digital camera in my teens, turned into photos of my travels in my early 20s, and eventually I began photographing milestones for my friends Keith and Kathy - engagement, maternity, newborn, and family sessions.
It wasn’t until my Mima passed away in 2019 that I understood just how deeply photographs can be cherished. I love to look back on photos of her and remember her - alive and vibrant and absolutely beautiful. Those photos help to remind me of the love I was so lucky to have.
Being entrusted to capture memories for others and their loved ones to look back on for years to come is something that I don’t take lightly or take for granted. It’s a true privilege that will always mean the world to me!
After meeting my husband Ryan on Bumble during the height of Covid, I realized just about anything is possible. So in April of 2021 I decided to pursue my dream, and Shutterbug Sherri Photography was born.
Later that year, Ryan got a job opportunity we couldn't pass up. Less than a month later we loaded our belongings onto a moving truck, packed our car with a few suitcases, and made the 25 hour move from Fort Collins, Colorado to North Carolina with our dogs Ace and Odie.
I've absolutely loved meeting new clients in the Triangle for the past 4 years! I continue to serve my Northern Colorado clients during my trips back home. Having my heart in two places is both difficult and beautiful.
In 2024, we found out we were pregnant... with TWINS! Our world was flipped upside down in the best possible way. We couldn't be more grateful, and my passion for capturing special memories, especially for families, has grown even more.
